Extra features can be added to an intent e.g. time/date context, video responses, metadata etc. by enabling Add-On sections.
In the following step-by-step example, we will :-
To add extra details to an intent, open the intent and click Enable Add-On
Enable a Context Add-On
Enable or disable an intent at certain times, days of the week, or dates. For instance, you may want to provide the end-user different responses in order to give them different contact instructions at the weekend or over a holiday period.
In the sidebar, click on the Context Add-On card.
The Context section will be appended to the bottom of the page.
Enter in the Context section -
Start Time & End Time The times that, between which, the intent is to be active Fields left blank indicate that intent is to be active around the clock
Start/End Date The dates that, between which, the intent is to be active Fields left blank indicate that intent is to be active for all dates
Days of the Week The days of the week that the intent is to be active Choose one or more days, or All for every day of the week
Enable a Video Add-On
Add a video to the intent's response. Currently, only YouTube video links are supported.
In the sidebar, click on the Video Add-On card.
The Video section will be appended to the bottom of the page.
Enter in the Video section -
Video URL The YouTube URL of the video to display
Licensed confirmation Check this checkbox to confirm that you have permission, or own/hold a licence to use the video
Enable a Metadata Add-On
Add metadata key-value pairs to the intent's response. These can be used to pass information e.g. to a web client that your chat window is embedded in.
Metadata is returned within the raw API response and is not visible within our test experience. When using our APIs however, you have the ability to create rich experiences when using these fields. For example if you’re intent response was related to a particular book, you could send additional information such as author or page number, that could then be used by a web client to create a more detailed experience for the end-user.
In the sidebar, click on the Metadata Add-On card
The Metadata section will be appended to the bottom of the page.
Enter in the Metadata section -
Key Name The name of the key-value pair
Key Value The value of the key-value pair
Add as many key-value pairs as required.
